Client FAQs

Who is eligible for an appointment to shop for household goods at New Life Furniture Bank of MA?

We only take referrals through social service agencies, government agencies and clergy. Clients are those in need of a wide array of household goods to set up an apartment.

How does the referral process work?

The referring agency or clergy must email the referral form found on our website to We will then arrange an appointment by email for the client through the referring advocate.

Will the applicants need to provide their own transportation?

Yes. New Life Furniture Bank of MA is an all-volunteer organization and cannot provide delivery service. The truck must be big enough to fit all items in one trip. The client and truck must arrive at 102 Elm Street on time for their appointment.

Is the furniture new?

No. All of the furniture and other household goods are “gently used” donations from private homes, however, we only have items in our inventory that we would use ourselves. We only accept donations according to specific guidelines.

If an applicant misses an appointment, can it be rescheduled?

Clients should make every effort to keep their scheduled appointment. Clients must contact their referring agency to change an appointment.

Can clients who have received furniture through New Life Furniture Bank of MA apply again for another visit?

Due to our limited resources, clients can only make one visit.
