Join New Life's Volunteer Committee
The Volunteer Committee will develop and execute projects under the direction of the Volunteer Coordinator intended to engage, recruit, and show appreciation for New Life Furniture Bank of MA volunteers. Projects could include the Volunteer Open House, recruitment at local events, special volunteer days, donation drives, volunteer appreciation events, an annual evaluation of the volunteer program, and much more. The majority of the work involved will be event planning. Members of the committee will have a hands-on role in growing the volunteer program.
Membership: The committee will consist of eight volunteers that meet membership criteria. If deemed appropriate by the Volunteer Coordinator and the committee, elected positions may be introduced.
Meetings: Meetings will be held monthly on a date determined by the committee and Volunteer Coordinator. Meetings may be more frequent depending on the current project.
Familiarity with the volunteer experience at New Life
Committed to attending all meetings throughout the year (except in extenuating circumstances)
Strong communication skills, especially working remotely
Organized and/or creative in planning events
Willingness to be a team player and held accountable for your contribution toward a project
Grow the volunteer program to be more engaging, meaningful, and effective.
After each project, the committee and Volunteer Coordinator will discuss what went well and what could be improved upon next time.
For now, the committee will use a shared Google Drive folder to share resources and collaborate on documents. Communication among the committee will be primarily through email, but also phone and virtual meetings.
